Clearwater Arts Alliance — “Inspired by Nature”

In May 2023, Colombian sculptor Felipe Lopez was invited to exhibit his recycled metal works at Inspired by Nature, an exhibition organized by the Clearwater Arts Alliance at the Clearwater Public Library. The event celebrated nature through sculpture, painting, and photography, and ran until August 25, 2024. Lopez presented several of his signature works, including Golden Frog (Rana Dorada), Anaconda (winner of the CAA Member Choice Award), Spider Crab, and Antirealism. Each piece was created from repurposed metal objects, reinforcing his vision of giving new life to materials often considered waste. The exhibition drew over 200 attendees and received broad recognition, including a feature on Fox 13 News and coverage by Creative Pinellas. In addition, Lopez won the popular vote at the Art in the Park event in October 2023, further affirming his growing presence in the Florida art scene. This exhibition underscored Lopez’s commitment to sustainability, transformation, and dialogue through art, while highlighting the ongoing support of the Clearwater Arts Alliance for local artists.
